The Union of Mongolian Artists (UMA) was founded in 1942 in Ulaanbaatar. It is the largest not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO), which unites more than 600 artists, living and working in Mongolia and abroad. UMA has branches in most of the major cities and provinces throughout the country. Their mission is to represent, promote and contribute in the visual art of Mongolia by hosting national and international exhibitions, providing professional information and news, collaborating with national and international art organizations. UMA hosts around 30 art exhibitions a year in their exhibition centre, which is located at the centre of Ulaanbaatar. It also provides studios for over 60 artists who are working in various fields.
