The Information and Research Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Environment is an Implementing Agency of the Government of Mongolia. Mongolia, in the heart of Central Asia, is a landlocked country. It has many unique geographical features: it is surrounded by many mountains on a high altitude, it has a harsh, arid and semi-arid continental climate. Winter can reaches the coldest temperatures of the continent. The uniqueness of its climate is due to its peculiar geographical location. Institute of Meteorology has over 300 observation points all over the country to monitor climate changes and gathering data on weather.
