The designers Michel and Amazonka Choigaalaa of the studio Michel & Amazonka are two sisters who work in the fashion industry. Their designs are inspired by Mongolian art history and Tibetan religious art. Their specialty is hand-made haute couture, trying to counteract the disposable consumption of mass-produced clothing. Their distinctive signature is the mixture of decorative elements typical of Mongolia with European styles. The typical iconographies that inspire them: floral patterns, local animals, Mongolian architecture patterns and ancient Mongolian clothes. The clothes are entirely produced in Mongolia.
